The new facilities cater for residents with dementia and includes twenty additional bedrooms, as well as lounge, multi-sensory facilities external gardens, decking, patio areas and hydro spa.

Established in 1997, Springfield Care Home prides itself on being one of the few truly family run care operators in the region. Family values are an important ethos within the home and residents and staff live and work together as one big extended family.
The home has a higher ratio of staff to residents and all 50 employees are
Qualified to NVQ Level II or higher, with all senior staff being qualified to a minimum of NVQ IV. Springfield has we believe, one of the highest rate of staff in the North East qualified to this level at almost 100% compared to the national minimum standard of 50%.

The home has also been awarded the City of Sunderland's Healthy Homes Award for twelve consecutive years. This is testament to Springfield's high standards of care.

The state-of-the-art home is set in extensive secure grounds and caters for fifty residents. All services are tailored to individual resident's needs and wishes.

Rooms benefit from en suite facilities and residents are encouraged to personalise their space with their own mementos.

The attractive accommodation includes four lounges, dining area, multi sensory lounge and spas with Arjo hydraulic lifts.

Another recent addition is a secure outdoor decking area from where residents can relax and enjoy a meal with extensive views over Philadelphia cricket ground.

Residents can live an independent life and enjoy a wide range of activities. The home has its own 14-seater minibus, hair salon, and two professional hairdressers who visit the home on a weekly basis. There is also a special Wednesday social afternoon where members of the community can visit and enjoy free tea or coffee and entertainment.

"We approach our role as a care provider entirely holistically and we strongly believe in not only caring for he physical well-being of our residents, but also proactively incorporate varied daily activities to promote individual, emotional and spiritual well-being."

"Springfield is a very lively and bustling home, and family values are extremely important here. The home is family run and staff turnover is extremely low. Many of our team have worked here for over 10 years.
We are very much driven by old-fashioned family values and offer a quality, professional service. We are also one of the few homes that don't charge third party top-ups." Phil Carey, Managing Director
