Holistic Care

We proactively incorporate varied daily activities designed to promote and encourage individual emotional and spiritual well-being

At Springfield Care Homes we approach our role as a care provider entirely holistically and we strongly believe in not only in caring for the physical well-being of our residents, but also proactively incorporate varied daily activities designed to promote and encourage  individual emotional and spiritual well-being.

To do this we provide a range of supplemental facilities and activities which are designed to actively encourage and promote continued independence.

For example, to help with relaxation and ease away many aches and pains associated with circulatory problems, we are delighted to be able to offer very soothing hydro spa bathing facilities, which are designed to promote independence and encourage blood flow through hydro massage. These specialist facilities are normally only to be found specialist physiotherapy centres and we are extremely proud to offer these specialist facilities to all of our residents.

We also have a highly effective relaxation room, incorporating specialist multi-sensory equipment. This is a quiet ‘light reduced room’ featuring an all-leather extremely relaxing recliner with built-in automated relaxing massage features. This equipment really needs to be experienced to appreciate the many therapeutic benefits and really does massage away the stresses and strains of everyday life!

The room also features relaxing sound and vision shows specially created to aid and stimulate the relaxation process. The multi-sensory room caters for just one person at a time, ensuring that the experience is completely peaceful and thereby enhancing its therapeutic benefits.
Because we all enjoy a change of scenery once in a while, we now have our own specially adapted 14-seater mini-bus for those regular essential days and evenings out.  We have found that this facility is especially popular with our residents and enables more people to enjoy our regular ‘away-days’ and evenings out.

Therapeutic Gardens

We currently have two additional and beautiful therapeutic garden areas under construction, that are equipped with soothing water features creating the perfect ambience for residents and visitors alike to enjoy the peace and beauty of the outdoors in the warmer months.

Wednesday Over 65’s Social

To further enhance the social variety of residents’ calendar, we invite members of the local community to join our residents’ and families’ ‘weekly over 65’s social’.
Members of the local community regularly join us for a game of bingo, or just come to relax and chat in good company. Catch up with old friends or make new ones whilst enjoying complimentary tea, coffee and our chef’s home made cakes.
This social event takes place each Wednesday from  2pm- 4pm at Springfield House, but as this is proving  very popular, space is limited so please telephone before hand to ensure that we have available space!

Please give us a call on (0191) 5120613 for further information.
